About the Foundation

Who we are

Groep 91 Uitvoer (Pty) Ltd is a family-owned citrus producer, while Kaross is a designer and producer of world class hand embroidered textiles in the Letsitele region of the Limpopo Province of South Africa.

How did we begin

In fulfilling a long term objective of both Groep 91 Uitvoer and Kaross, we have established the Kaross Foundation in 2017 as a Non Profit Company responsible for the comprehensive management of social development projects related to our businesses and its community.

What is our objective

The main objective of the Kaross Foundation will be to identify, fund and implement projects that will result in a sustainable improvement in the quality of life of both Kaross and Groep 91 Uitvoer’s employees and their communities.

What we believe

  • We believe that we have a responsibility to be active citizens who play our part in creating a sustainable social and economic future for ourselves and our employees.

  • We believe in the power of education as a key enabler of both social and economic success.

  • We believe in the value of partnerships and in investing in relationships that are based on mutual respect.

Mission

The Kaross Foundation and all its partners are proud of both its achievements and future ambitions towards creating a better South Africa for all its people. As active citizens, we acknowledge our responsibility and pledge our commitment towards conducting our business in such a way that it exudes passion, kindness, integrity and professionalism.

How we structure our work

1. Community projects that are linked to our immediate community
with a specific drive to be involved in the education sector.

2. Farm projects that are directly linked to employees.

Some of our Current Projects

Magri Language Institute

Magri Genovese’s Language Institute Teacher Training & Development (MLI) Program was appointed to become the Training Partner of Kaross Foundation.

Mandela Month Projects

The main aim is to create awareness amongst the company employees not only of the work the Kaross Foundation is involved with, but also the needs in their community. Bringing the farm to the community

Adult Based Education (A.B.E.T.)

Kaross Foundation decided to invest in adult based education firstly because of the personal growth people experience when they are able to read and write, and also to enhance communication in the workplace; securing jobs and resulting in a positive working environment.

C.A.M.I

Cami is a Literacy and Math computer-based program that has proven to be a powerful tool in the schools that use it effectively.

Leadership of Hope

Through Skills for Africa, the Leadership of Hope course is presented to willing employees to provide them with personal Leadership skills as well as the skills to manage their own personal finances.

Sport Development

It is our belief that participation in competitive sport is one of the most effective ways for personal development apart from the health benefits thereof. That is why the Kaross Foundation aims to develop sport for our employees, and help people achieve these goals and become stronger individuals. We love the JOY that it gives our people.

Testimonies

According to Portia the most important aspect of the Brainbooster program is to teach interactively with the use of games and visual aids. Portia hope the Brainbooster program will grow in their school and focus more on teaching mathematics in the foundation Phase.
